InterStellarVisions

Exploring The Realm of Imagination

CONSTELLATION STARLING ( Dedicated To Jim Morrison)

Lets live our lives on the edge of bright

Where the Sun dies in opulent splendor

Like a mystic bird of rare plumage

Sea weary

Eager to go

Winging his way

Beyond the shadows of the West

To expire at last

Behind walls of fire gold

Where untold riches

Await the dazzling soul.

A Dream About Jim Morrison

This dream I had about Jim Morrison, the second half of which was lucid, started out when I was just a kid, still in grade school. I think it was around the 5th grade. I'm not sure why I was so young in this dream, considering I didn't find out about Jim and the Doors till I was a sophmore in High School.

Anyway, me and some friends of mine were standing around outside, by the fence, during recess. We weren't doing anything special, just standing there, talking. When out of nowhere, Jim comes striding up, sorta easy like, leaps lightly on top of the bench, which was across from us...then he started singing. My friends and I, were sitting there, totally entranced. Jim, he wasn't posing or anything. He just stood there, legs slightly apart, his head was tilted up tho, like he was singing to the sky.

All of a sudden, a gentle rain started to fall. Then, in the middle of his song, a little tree started to grow, right next to the bench he was standing on. It kept growing, and growing, as he kept singing, and the rain kept coming down softy. When he stopped, it was a huge oak tree, that overspread its branches over both benches. After he was done singing, he just looked down and smiled at us.

Then I said, "What does all this mean Jim?"

He answered, "Man, nothing makes a tree grow, like rain, deep soulful singing, and the pure, sweet love of children."

Then suddenly, the dreamscene changed. It flashed ahead to when I was a little older.... Jim was taking me someplace. He was walking out in front of me, eager to get there.

"Hey Jim, why won't you tell me where we're going?" I asked.

"Don't sweat it kid....you'll find out soon enough," he answered.

Then he says, "Listen, ya gotta remember to keep yer yap shut.  These people don't like it when youngsters step outta line, got it?"

"Sure Jim, if you say so."

He stopped, kinda half looked back at me, and let out a little,"Heh heh heh."

So anyway...a little while later, and we are at the place. Jim goes bounding up the steps, opens the door, and gets ready to walk inside, I came up right behind him, as he held the door. But then, I looked down this long spiral stairway, that was before us, and I saw some strange looking shadows on the wall, and I heard some frightning music. At that point, I paused at the door.

Jim turns around, and says, "Hey man, this is it...aren't you coming along?"

"Hmmm, I don't know Jimbo. It looks kinda scary down there. Are you sure it's going to be safe?"

Then he says, "Look man, it's like I told you before. Either you're with me or you're not. There's no in between. So I'm gonna go have me some fun. You do what you want, and I'll see you on the other side."

Then he started to walk through the door.

"Hold on Jim," I said.

"Well, are you coming? If you are then let's go. I don't want the party to start without me."

"Alright, I guess I'll hang out for a while," I answered.

"Good. We'll have a blast kid. Just stick with me, and I'll show you a real good time."

We walked through the door, and Jim led me down the stairs. It seemed like we were walking down those stairs forever. There were like flaming shadows playing on the wall. And as we got closer to the bottom, I heard weird chanting, and bizzare otherworldly music, interspersed with grunts and groans.

As we came towards the bottom, Jim stopped, and he turned around and whispered to me.

"Check this out man. These people are into some really crazy shit."

I came around the side of Jim, and just stood there, watching all these people in long purple robes, with little red stars all over them. They danced around in a circle, then they would stop and bow to this little figurine in the middle of them.

I started to walk over to where they were, and Jim grabbed my arm.

"Hey man, I wouldn't do that if I were you. These people don't know you that well. Let me go first." Then he nodded his head a little and smiled, like he knew what he was talking about.

"Alright Jim. You walk over first, I'll be right behind you."

He turned around, and began to just casually stroll over to where this group of devotees were moving around in some strange sort of trance.

"Awww man," Jim whispered, in a kind of awestruck voice.

"What? What is it Jim? I said.

"Come around here, and stand beside me."

I did, and it was then,  I saw what they were bowing to.

It was a little statuette of the god Pan, standing on a pedastool. Except the thing looked alive. It had large, glowing eyes, and tiny horns that seemed to be getting bigger.

They started to intone some strange arcane spells, and the thing began to move around. It hopped down to the floor, and started to dance around with them.

Jim and I just stood there watching them. Then Jim began to utter some wild sort of poetry.

"In the casual decay of our midnight dreams, a sad god glanced upon our woeful distance, and laughed with grim finality."

I looked at Jim, and said, "What are you saying Jim? What's those words supposed to mean exactly?"

"Forget it kid," Jim answered. "You wouldn't understand right now. Ask me again later."

"Alright Jim, if you say so."

Then he nudged me with his arm.

"C'mon man," he said. "Let's get going. I'm getting tired of this scene. Let's find another room to explore."

As he said those words, I looked over at him, and his eyes grew really dark and it looked like the universe was inside them, with little stars flashing. Then his hair began to grow into little flames. When he spoke to me again, his voice sounded like that of a giant's. And his words echoed off into infinity.

I grew a little nervous.

"Jim, are you okay?" I asked.

"Sure man, I'm feeling alright. Now c'mon...follow me down this hallway."

So he turned and began walking down this extremely long corridor. There were many doors on both sides of us.

After I followed behind him for a while,  we got to where we could see a single door right before us. There was a neon sign right over the door, that said,"The End."

He kept walking right towards it.

I stopped, and said, "Look Jim, I don't think we should go through that door. Let's find another one."

He stopped, and turned around very slowly.

"Tell you what kid," he began. "I'll go through it first, and if everything looks okay, I'll give you a hollar, and then you come on through."

He didn't even wait for me to answer, he just started walking. Then before I knew what was happening, he had already walked through the door, and was hollaring for me to do the same.

"C'mon man. It looks cool over here, on the other side. Let's go."

I just stood there, as he kept calling.

"C'mon man, we're gonna have us a real good time. Just open the door, and your in."

"I don't know Jim."

"Let's go now," he said once more.

Finally, I walked over, opened the door, and went through.

I looked around for Jim, but he was gone.

Then that was it.

I woke up.

That was some dream. In full Mojo-enhanced techno-color. I still think about it to this day.

Damn...what a blast!

Thanks Jim.

Me and Jim. Two of a kind

There are some unique similarities about both Jim and I, that none of you know about. We both have the same first two initials. James Douglas- JD. Dwayne Joseph-DJ.  He was born on Dec 8th, 1941- 12/8/41. I was born on Jan 28th, 1964 - 1/28/64.  See how the first numbers in our date of births match up.

Jim- 12.8

Me- 1.28

Cool huh?

Another cool thing, is that Jim and I, both have the same amount of letters in our names. Dwayne Joseph Pagnotto- 20 James Douglas Morrison- 20.

He was fond of Alexander the Great, and I am fond of Achilles, from whom Alexander was descended.

A few other things we have in common:

-We both have just one brother, and one sister.

-We both moved around a lot while we were younger.

-He tranferred to George Washington High School in Virginia in his sophomore year, from Alameda High(Calif.) in 1959. I tranferred to Kennett High School in 1979 in my sophomore year from Penns Grove, NJ.

-He was a loner, shy and withdrawn, who often preferred to read books, as opposed to going out for any high school sports, or other after school activities.

I was also a shy young school kid who perferred to be alone, and concentrate on reading books, rather than engaging in sports or any other school-related events.

-We both excelled in English, and really didn't have any use for math.

On a side-note here...he was best friends with Ray Manzarek who is an Aquarius, just as I am. If I had ever met Jim, I know we would've got along famously.

The Legacy Continues...

This recording was done by me, ages and ages ago, in the style of The Door's, "Celebration Of The Lizard." To accomplish what I had in mind, I used this Casio Digital keyboard that I recieved one year for Christmas, with all the different instruments on it, and all the various musical rhythms as well. To start out, I selected Bossanova beat, and slowed the tempo way down. Then I programmed the instrument setting for harpsichord, and played the notes, holding each one down, to get a certain lingering effect. Then I recorded that on my tape deck. Then I went back, and played the first recording, and over that I recited this poem, and set the instrument for Oboe, and played that at the same time, while recording both of them, on a second tape deck. I was trying to give this poem an atmosphere of ancientness.  I've often thought I could use this poem, as a basis for starting a new type of civilization. Complete with it's own alphabet, and language, a new form of government, with it's own history and mythology and it's own unique set of legendary people who helped bring this new culture into being. I may still do it. The possibilities are endless.

Let's reinvent the gods

All the myths of the ages

Celebrate symbols from deep Elder forests.

While you listen to this recording I've done, make sure to click on the midi player at the bottom, then you will be able to pause the page music, as you listen to my recording. If you follow along with the written poem, every word will be visible for you to understand, as you hear it spoken.

Many thanks to my dear friend Graeme King, who remixed this file for me, added special effects, and greatly aided with enhancing the sound, and the overall quality of it. It now sounds ten times better than it ever did. He is a technical wizard, and an outstanding writer to boot. Here is a link to his own website, where he has tons of wonderful poems, many pieces of digital art which he's created and lots of other fun things to do and explore. http://kingpoetry.com/

ANCIENT SOUL'S SEDUCTION

Shhhhh......listen

I hear them

The Elder gods

They are calling us.

Their voices are soft

Whispering silently

Thru the lush swaying trees.

Gliding

On the warm breath

Of the western breeze.

They beckon us.

Come they say

Let us run thru the sweet fragrant fields

Until we reach once again the sacred forests

Where you shall build for us brilliant temples as in the old days.

And you shall sacrifice to us

The beautiful reptiles

That you find there.

Mixing their blood

With the blood of the vine

We will bless your offering

And you shall prosper.

You will sing aloud our praises

Once again

After two thousand years.

Your children

They will say the ancient chants

Study again the ancient scrolls.

Celebrate the birth

Of the moonchild.

We will lead you again

Into the Garden of the Sun.

Where you shall tread once more

The shining paths of your fathers

And drink from the rich life-giving streams

Of the Black Lake.

We will bring you into the Valley of the Rains

Where you shall live and worship us there

According to the ancient ways.

You shall dwell in peace

With the New Creatures

And walk hand in hand

With your brother

Until the end of your days

When you shall come at last

To live with us

In the sacred glades

Forever.

Come my children

To the past.

For we have seen the future

And it holds nothing

But destruction and chaos.

The life we offer thee

Holds timeless dreams

Not yet discovered

Hidden mysteries

Will be uncovered.

Come my children

For the time is ripe

And our time grows short.

We must leave you now

Not to return again

Until the silent hush of winter's purity

Is broken

By the sorrowing tears

Of the new spring.

The choice is yours my children

Enter the door to the other side

Take your freedom in sudden stride.

We await

Your arrival

With golden survival

On the shores that are lapped

By destiny's tides. (echo)
